G 5 21 <br />ION RIMM.11 us 9M k1l M HN 01 <br />WHEREAS, Hawai'i Rise Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated <br />to creating opportunities for vulnerable, or moderate and low-income families, children, and the <br />elderly; and <br />WHEREAS, Vibrant Hawaii is a community organization dedicated to convening <br />multi -sector groups to advance collective contribution towards our island's shared vision; and <br />WHEREAS, Vibrant Hawaii has created resilience hubs to increase access to digital <br />connectivity and improve food security while supporting the local economy and providing a suite <br />of resilience and wellness programming; and <br />WHEREAS, Vibrant Hawaii is donating equipment, supplies and food with a total value <br />of $68,000 to the Department of Parks and Recation; and <br />WHEREAS, these supplies will be used at Papa'ikou Gym and Community Center, <br />Stanley Costales Waidkea 'Uka Gym, Kawananakoa Gym, Waimea District Park and Honomid <br />Gym to provide children with virtual learning space/support and food distribution for the <br />County's child learning programs; and <br />WHEREAS, Article X111, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that <br />the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or other <br />personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estates, and Chapter 2, Article 30, <br />Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that any gifts or donations of money, <br />securities, or personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department <br />of Finance, may be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and <br />
