County of Hawaii was awarded <br /> funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) under the Staffing <br /> for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response Grant which will fund six Fire Captain and <br /> three Fire Fighter positions for three years. These positions will assist the department in <br /> increasing safety within Hawaii County. <br /> The Hawaii Fire Department is requesting that this resolution be waived from Finance <br /> Committee and be placed on the October 6, 2021 Council agenda in order to expedite this <br /> process. If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call Ian Smith of the Fire <br /> Department at 932-2900. <br /> Deanna S.
