The grant funds will be used to assist coffee farmers by <br /> offsetting the cost of fungicides to control Coffee Leaf Rust. <br /> Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating this <br /> $300,000 to the Department of Research and Development's Coffee Berry Borer <br /> Pesticide Subsidy program account. <br /> The Department of Research and Development is requesting that this bill be waived from <br /> Finance Committee and be placed on the November 3, 2021 Council agenda in order to <br /> expedite the receipt of these funds.
