STATE OF HAWAII <br /> ',TE OP•Np•1qq <br /> i <br /> k <br /> RESOLUTION No. 0677 21, i <br /> i <br /> RESOLUTION AU RIZI THE OFFICE <br /> TER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE UNITED STATES <br /> DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br /> ADMINISTRATION <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to enter into an agreement with <br /> the United States Department of Commerce, Economic Development <br /> Administration; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Economic Development Administration has authorized <br /> funds to be provided to the County of Hawaii through the American Rescue Plan <br /> Act Build Back Better Regional Challenge; and <br /> WHEREAS, these funds will be used towards the economic recovery efforts <br /> that are needed due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that County <br /> departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreements with the <br /> federal or state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the <br /> powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other <br /> assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those <br /> powers; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`l, in <br /> accordance with section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, that the Mayor of the <br /> County of Hawaii is authorized to execute, on behalf of the County, an agreement <br /> and related documents with the United States Department of Commerce, <br /> Economic Development Administration, <br />
