Roth dated <br /> November 16, 2021, nominates Michael Konowicz of Council District 9 to the Cost of Government <br /> Commission. <br /> Executive Assistant to the Mayor Pomaika`i Bartolome introduced the nominee. Ms. Bartolome stated <br /> that Mr. Konowicz has been a resident of South Kohala for the past four years with a longtime <br /> connection to the islands. Mr. Konowicz is a business owner, meteorologist, and journalist. Previously, <br /> Mr. Konowicz served on the local Environmental Commission and the Planning and Zoning <br /> Commission on the mainland. He currently volunteers at World Vision, the American Cancer Society, <br /> and the National MS Society. <br /> If confirmed, Mr. Konowicz would serve a term from January 1, 2022, to November 30, 2022. <br /> Mr. Konowicz briefly elaborated on his background, stating that he would be able to bring analytical <br /> insight, efficient work ethic, and a deep passion for Hawaii to the commission. <br /> Committee Member Herbert M.
