No. 305-22 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawaii <br /> I <br /> TIME: 9:01 a.m. <br /> I <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 305-22, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 305-22, transmitted by the Councilmember Maile Medeiros David via <br /> Communication No. 592 dated January 18, 2022, awards a Public Access, Open Space, and Natural <br /> Resources Preservation Maintenance Fund stewardship grant to Na Mamo O Kawa. <br /> This resolution approves a grant of$117,577.48 to Na Mamo O Kawa, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br /> organization, to protect,preserve, and restore the Kawa properties in Ka`u, pursuant to Section 10-16(h) <br /> of the Hawaii County Charter. <br /> Ms. David provided background on the measure, clarifying that Na Mamo O Kawa amended their <br /> 2021 application as requested and that Parks & Recreation gave a positive recommendation for the <br /> grant.
