7 <br /> OF of <br /> COUNTY OF i STATE OF t <br /> SOLUTION NO. 15 <br /> a <br /> RESOLU <br /> I <br /> TION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN <br /> AGREEMENTIT 1`I DEPARTMENT OF <br /> LABOR AND INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-79 <br /> FOR A RANT TO THEHAWAII COUNTY RESEARCH <br /> I <br /> DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT 3 <br /> 3 <br /> a <br /> WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii, Department of Labor and Industrial <br /> Relations (DLIR) has authorized $965,600 in federally derived funds to be <br /> provided to the County of Hawaii, Department of Research & Development via the <br /> Quality Jobs, Equity, Strategy, and Training Disaster Recovery National Dislocated <br /> Worker Grant; and <br /> WHEREAS, the purpose of this agreement is to assist individuals that have <br /> been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and the social and economic <br /> inequities that it exacerbated, to enter, return to, or advance in high-quality jobs I <br /> that are safe, sustainable, stable, equitable, and support worker voice in the t <br /> workplace; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that County <br /> departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreements with the <br /> federal or state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the <br /> powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other <br /> assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those <br /> powers; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, in <br /> accordance with section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, that the Mayor of the <br />
