COUNTY OF HAWAII •� ''—' '�� •s STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 383 23 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A <br /> LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR <br /> FOR A MULTI-YEAR AGREEMENT FOR AN INDEPENDENT <br /> AUDITOR(S) <br /> WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, <br /> lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later <br /> fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and <br /> WHEREAS, Section 3-18 of the County Charter requires the County Auditor to <br /> conduct or cause to be conducted, the annual financial audit of the County; and <br /> WHEREAS, Section 10-13 of the County Charter requires the County Council to <br /> provide for an annual independent audit of the accounts and other evidences of <br /> financial transactions of the County and of every county agency and executive <br /> agency; and <br /> WHEREAS, the County Auditor wishes to enter into a multi-year agreement with <br /> an agency to be determined by the County's Request for Proposal (RFP) process in <br /> order to comply with audit requirements and Charter requirements; and <br /> WHEREAS, the agreement is to be for five (5) years, commencing with the audit <br /> year ending June 30, 2023; now therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> it authorizes the Chair of the Council as its Chief Procurement Officer and through <br /> its County Auditor, to proceed with the award of a multi-year contract for an <br /> independent auditor to perform the required annual audit services covering the <br /> fiscal years ending June 30, 2023 through June 30, 2027. <br />
