No. 640/Res. No. 383-23 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 383-23, reports as follows: <br />Resolution No. 383-23, transmitted by Finance Director Deanna S. Sako, via Communication No. 640 <br />dated December 1, authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of more than one fiscal year <br />for a multi-year agreement for an independent auditor(s). <br />This resolution authorizes the Chair of the County Council to enter into a five-year agreement with an <br />independent auditor, to be determined by the Request for Proposal process, to provide an annual audit of <br />accounts and other financial transactions of the County. <br />Committee Member Holeka Goro Inaba asked Auditor Tyler Benner to provide some background on <br />this measure. Mr. Inaba asked Mr. Benner for clarification on the service term of the independent <br />auditor. The resolution states that the service term would cover fiscal years ending June 30, 2023 <br />through June 30, 2027. However, Mr. Inaba deduced that this measure requests the independent auditor <br />to perform the required annual audit services for fiscal years ending June 30, 2024 through June 30, <br />2028, which Mr. Benner confirmed.
