,•4OJ+`V OF\y.'' <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAI I i . :• STATE OF HAWAI I <br /> �l'•:Nl <br /> • <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 482 24 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE KONA COFFEE <br /> CULTURAL FESTIVAL TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO THE <br /> COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES WITH MISS <br /> KONA COFFEE. <br /> WHEREAS, the Kona Coffee Cultural Festival is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that <br /> strives to preserve,perpetuate, and promote Kona's coffee heritage; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Kona Coffee Cultural Festival supports the community service projects <br /> and educational activities of each reigning Miss Kona Coffee; and <br /> WHEREAS, in April and May of 2024, the current Miss Kona Coffee will coordinate <br /> and/or participate in community service projects and educational activities as follows: <br /> • April 20, 2024—coordinate, participate in, and provide refreshments and lunch for a <br /> "Community Garden and Recycle Day" at Konawaena Elementary School in <br /> celebration of Earth Day, which includes helping to expand the school's garden; <br /> • April 23-25, 2024—coordinate, participate in, and provide light refreshments, snacks, <br /> and a"Jump for Fun"keiki water slide for a"Community Spring Celebration"to be <br /> held at La`i`opua 2020 on the 23rd, Konawaena Elementary School on the 24th, and <br /> Kealakehe Elementary School on the 25th; <br /> • May 4, 2024—participate in and provide refreshments for a"Community Cleanup <br /> Day" at Harold H. Higashihara Park; and <br /> • May 28, 2024—participate in and provide snacks, popcorn, and other refreshments <br /> for a year-end"Community Movie Night" at Konawaena Elementary School; and <br />
