COUNTY OF HAWAVI <br />RESOLUTION NO. G12 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF TWENTY-SIX <br />(26) PORTABLE GENERATORS FROM THE STATE OF HAWAVI, <br />DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE, HAWAVI EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT <br />AGENCY <br />WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii, Department of Defense, Hawaii Emergency <br />Management Agency (HIEMA), Logistics Division possesses portable generators that <br />are not currently being utilized; and <br />WHEREAS, HIEMA has offered twenty-six (26) of these portable generators, <br />valued at approximately $15,619.47, to the Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, these portable generators will be utilized island wide to enhance <br />the department's local emergency capabilities; and <br />WHEREAS, Article XII1, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides <br />that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, <br />securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, <br />and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that <br />any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the <br />capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by <br />resolution approved by the Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the Civil Defense Agency recommends the acceptance of this <br />equipment; now, therefore, <br />
