COUNTY OF HAWAIJ <br />STATE OF HAWAVI <br />RESOLUTION NO. 662 24 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND <br />RECREATION TO AWARD FUNDS TO HAWAVI HI -DIVING FRIENDS <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 2, Article 25, Section 2-139(a)(3)(A) of the Hawaii <br />County Code (2016 Edition as amended) states, Grant awards in excess of $25,000 <br />to nonprofit organizations shall specifically identify the organization receiving the <br />grant funds and the purpose for which the grant funds shall be used in a resolution; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 2, Article 25, Section 2-136(5) of the Hawaii County <br />Code states, "nonprofit organization" means an organization that is registered and in <br />good standing in the State of Hawaii as a nonprofit organization and maintains a <br />501 (c)(3) charitable designation from the Internal Revenue Service; and <br />WHEREAS, Hawaii HI -Diving Friends, which qualifies as a nonprofit <br />organization as defined above, will utilize the funds towards the third and final phase <br />of their Charles "Sparky" Kawamoto Swim Stadium Dive Tower New Staircase <br />project; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation wishes to provide <br />$62,850 to Hawaii HI -Diving Friends; now, therefore <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, in <br />accordance with Chapter 2, Article 25, Section 2-139(a)(3)(A) of the Hawaii County <br />Code, the Department of Parks and Recreation is authorized to provide a grant of <br />$62,850 to Hawaii HI -Diving Friends to provide services as indicated above. <br />
