No. 289/Res. No. 180-25 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 180-25, reports as follows: <br />Resolution No. 180-25, transmitted by Finance Director Diane Nakagawa via Communication <br />No. 289, dated May 2, 2025, authorizes the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the University of <br />Hawaii Office of Research Services. <br />This resolution allows the County to provide a $14,805 grant to the College of Tropical Agriculture <br />and Human Resources to support its Master Food Volunteer Program. <br />Research and Development Food Access Coordinator Sarah Freeman, Deputy Director Dennis Lin, <br />University of Hawaii College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources Assistant Extension Agent <br />Marielle Hampton were present. <br />Ms. Freeman provided background on the resolution, and Ms. Hampton shared on their collaborations in <br />the community, their programs and funding sources. <br />Committee Member Ashley L. Kierkiewicz commented in support of this measure. <br />Committee Member Dennis "Fresh" Onishi suggested a collaboration with Kokua Harvest and the Food <br />Basket and urged them to reach out to these organizations.
