No. 463 <br />Your Committee on Governmental Operations and External Affairs, to which was referred <br />Communication No. 463, reports as follows: <br />Communication No. 463, transmitted by Managing Director William V. Brilhante, Jr., dated <br />August 13, 2025, requests the Council's review and confirmation of the nomination of <br />David N. Kuahiwinui to the Ka`u Community Development Plan Action Committee. <br />Executive Assistant to the Mayor Micah Alameda was present in the Hilo Chambers to introduce <br />Mr. Kuahiwinui, who was also present in the Hilo Chambers. <br />Committee Members Michelle M. Galimba, Ashley L. Kierkiewicz, and Dennis "Fresh" Onishi spoke <br />in favor of Mr. Kuahiwinui's nomination. <br />Committee Chair Jenn Kagiwada asked Mr. Kuahiwinui about his ideas regarding creating potential <br />job opportunities going forward. Mr. Kuahiwinui said he will continue to look into ideas and options <br />to provide an informed answer. <br />Pursuant to Chapter 16, Article 3, Section 16-5(a) of the Hawaii County Code, members of the Ka`u <br />Community Development Plan Action Committee shall be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by <br />the Council. <br />GOEAC Report No. 66 <br />
