Actual revenues collected exceeded the projected revenues of $6,800,000
established in Ordinance 23-18 by $1,493,554.75. The excess revenues are being distributed using the
same procedures and percentages established by Ordinance 23-18. A breakdown of the programs and the
specific projects are listed on Exhibit A of the bill.
The Department of Public Works requests that this bill be waived from the Finance Committee and placed
on the November 5, 2025 Council agenda to expedite the appropriation of funds.
The original bill for an ordinance to amend Ordinance 24-33 and appropriate these excess revenues in
fiscal year 2024-2025 passed at Council second reading on June 18, 2025. Due to timing, Ordinance 25-
56 did not go into effect until July 7, 2025. Therefore, we are resubmitting our request to appropriate
these funds in fiscal year 2026.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call Kelsey Kalua-Lewis, Business Manager at 808-
961-8321.
Sincerely,
Neil A v o
Acting Director
Department of Public Works
County of Hawai'i is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer
C-,
C)
C-- CD
Z
rJ
—1 C—,
=r
