County and federal portions were both <br /> appropriated previously, but the bid price was higher than estimated and additional federal <br /> funds were required. This project proposes to replace an existing concrete bridge that is <br /> structurally and functionally deficient with a new concrete bridge that meets current <br /> standards. <br /> Since the county funds appropriated for this project will lapse on June 30, 2001 and in order <br /> to have adequate federal funds to encumber the contract, the Department of Public Works <br /> would like to request a waiver from the Finance committee and have this bill heard at the <br /> Council meeting scheduled for June 6, 2001. <br /> If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the Department of Public Works. <br /> William T.
