Arakaki, Chair <br />County Council <br />25 Aupuni Street <br />Room 209 <br />Hilo, HI 96720 <br />Variance Request for Size of Signs <br />Alii Gardens Marketplace <br />75-6129 Alii Drive <br />Kailua-Kona, HI 96740 <br />Tax Map Key (3) 7-5-020:070 <br />Agricultural Lot 5A <br />Dear Sir; <br />We are requesting a variance on the size of our signs to 3' x 6' which we feel would <br />make the signs more in scale with the physical size of our project property. <br />(Approximately 350' frontage & 2.5 acres) <br />In addition, we feel that from a moving motorist's safety point of view our signs should <br />be somewhat larger than the ordinance calls for. Moving motorist on Alii Drive would <br />benefit from a somewhat larger sign to identify the property in ample time so that turning <br />into the Marketplace would be safe, easy and it would avoid "turn rounds." <br />From an aesthetic point of view, the signs will be a beautifully hand carved duplication of <br />our Logo (see pictures attached) and the requested size works best for the layout of the <br />Logo artwork. <br />Qiote: " imp prepared by Davie J.
