BOX 44337 <br /> KAWAIHAE, HAWAII 96743 <br /> Hawaii County Council ~ <br /> January 4, 2005 r-~ <br /> RE: Hawaii County General Plan-Draft 3. <br /> Dear Honorable County Councilmembers: <br /> 1 live in Kawaihae, on Hawaiian Home Lands, in the South Kohala <br /> district. 1 came before the Council to request "What considerations <br /> this County will make on the issue of impacts from the proposed Super <br /> Ferry that is planned to be hosted by my community-Kawaihae" <br /> 1 want to report that 1 was referred to Councilman Pete Hoffman <br /> probably because he represents my district. 1hand-delivered a copy of <br /> my testimony to the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) which reflects <br /> the same concerns 1 shared with the Council. That seems to be the <br /> end of that. <br /> This is not satisfactory. <br /> To this end, i have requested that each council member receive a <br /> copy of my testimony to the PUC. 1 believe this is a general public <br /> concern; not only a Hawaiian concern, not only an issue for my <br /> community to discuss, and definitely deserves some r®cognition in the <br /> General Plan as a residential and ~pricultural community. <br /> Therefore, 1 formally regy~t: <br /> 1. The issue of the Super Fe/~ry be placed on the next agenda for the <br /> island communities to discusl~. <br /> 2. The result from this meeting needs to be addressed as a state <br /> <br /> legislative action to suppgs~ the needs of the County. <br /> <br /> 3.
