Purpose. Pursuant to Act 72, Session Laws of Hawaii 2005, athree-stage <br /> graduated provisional driver licensing program for persons under the age of eighteen was <br /> established. The purpose of this ordinance is to amend chapter 24, article 4, section 24-20, <br /> Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition), by adding in the new provisional license fee that <br /> takes effect on January 9, 2006, pursuant to Act 72. <br /> SECT[ON 2. Chapter 24, article 4, section 24-20, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 <br /> Edition), is amended to read as follows: <br /> "Section 24-20. Motor vehicle driver's permit and license fees. <br /> The following fees are established for the application and renewal of motor vehicle <br /> instruction permits and driver's licenses: <br /> (a) Application for instruction permit, $10. <br /> (b) Application for driver's license orout-of--state transfer: <br /> (1) Application for driver's license (not chargeable if applicant presents evidence of <br /> having paid to Hawaii County the application for instruction permit fee), $1. <br /> <br />
