<br /> "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 15, ARTICLE 7, OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE
<br /> 1983 (2005 EDITION), RELATING TO THE VETERANS ADVISORY COMMITTEE."
<br /> "BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI'I:"
<br /> SECTION 1. Chapter 15, Article 7, Section 15-61, Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as
<br /> amended), is amended to read as follows:
<br /> "Section 15-61.Organization.

<br /> The veterans advisory committee shall be composed
<br /> of sixteen members. who shall be appointed by the mayor, confirmed by the council, and may
<br /> be removed by the mayor with the approval of the council. In addition, the Hawaii Island
<br /> Veterans Services Counselor of the Office of Veterans Services (,Department of Defense of the
<br /> State of Hawai'il and the Director of the Department of Parks and Recreation, or their
<br /> designated representatives. shall serve as ex-officio members of the committee, without the Hower
<br /> to vote."
<br /> SECTION 2. Chapter 15, Article 7, Section 15-62 (b), of the Hawaii County Code, 1983 (2005
<br /> Edition), is amended to read as follows:
<br /> "(b) The membership of the committee shall include one representative each from the
<br /> American Legion, Big Island National Guard Retirees Association, Big Island Retired
<br /> Military Association, Club 100, Disabled American Veterans, Hawaii Island Veterans
<br /> Memorial, Inc., 442"d Veterans Association, Hilo Interpreters Club, Hawaii Island Women
<br /> Veterans Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Veterans of the Vietnam War, [ate] the
<br /> Military Order of the Purple Heart [L.:,n
<br /> r~-~t~;',~], and the Korean War Veterans
<br /> Organization. The committee shall also include three at-large members."
<br /> SECTION 3. Chapter 15, Article 7, Section 15-62 (f), of the Hawaii County Code, 1983
<br /> (2005 edition), is amended as follows:
