Angel Pilago, Council Member, District 8 <br /> RE: Proposed Amendments to Bill 55, (A Bill for an Ordinance Providing for the <br /> Establishment of the Kailua Village Business Improvement District No. 1) <br /> Attached for your consideration are proposed amendments to Bill 55 which was postponed on <br /> February 21, 2007 to the Committee on Finance meeting set for March 8, 2007. The proposed <br /> amendments are the final work product following review and discussions between the Office of <br /> the Corporation Counsel, through its Deputy Amy Self, Mr. David Kaapu, attorney representing <br /> the Kailua Village Business Improvement District Association, County administration and <br /> council staff. <br /> The proposed amendments to Bill 55 include formatting changes and several non-substantive <br /> revisions (e.g., changing references from "Plan" to "District Plan", capitalizing the letter "d" in <br /> the word "District", changing "Budget" to "budget" and, where applicable, changing "District" <br /> to "District Association".) The remaining amendments are as follows: <br /> I. Amendments to: "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT <br /> OF THE KAILUA VILLAGE BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. P' <br /> SEC. 2, Establishment of District No. 1, was amended as follows: <br /> 1. SEC. 2, subsection (a) was deleted, as there is no subsequent subsection (b). <br /> 2. SEC. 2, paragraph (I) is amended as follows: <br /> Added reference to "(District Plan)," attached as Exhibit "A." <br /> 3.
