Sayre Memorial Fund has presented a monetary gift of ten <br /> <br /> thousand nine hundred fifty-six dollars ($10,956) to the Hawaii Fire Department; and <br /> WHEREAS, these funds will be used to purchase new flight helmets, equipped with <br /> communication devices, for the pilots of the rescue helicopter (based at Waiakea Station) and the <br /> pilots of the rescue/aeromedical helicopter pilots (based at S. Kohala Station); and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this <br /> donation; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, provides that the <br /> Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of money, securities, or other <br /> personal property or real estate or any interest in real estate. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, ~I~ IT RESOLVED ~Y THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF <br /> HAWAII, in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, the Hawaii <br /> Fire Department is authorized to accept this monetary gift of ten thousand nine hundred fifty-six <br /> dollars ($10,956) from the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Fund. <br /> ~E IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be <br /> sent to the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Fund, c/o Ms. Kalei Stern, Director of Donor Services, <br /> Hawaii Community Foundation, 1164 Sishop Street, Suite 800, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813, <br /> acknowledging this generous donation. <br /> <br />
