No. 498 PLACE: Council Chambers TIME: 9:41 a.m. Council Chair and Members Hawaii County Council Hilo, Hawaii 96720 Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 498, reports as follows: Communication No. 498, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, dated June 25, 2007, authorizes the acceptance of two monetary donations to the Department of Parks & Recreation from the Big Island Auto Club (in the amount of $781.81), and Kamehameha Schools Hawaii -ASKS (in the amount of $106.00) totaling $887.81, These donations are to be used towazds the replacement of items and the repairs/reconstruction and cleanup of the Pana` ewa Community Center. Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property. Also, pursuant to Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(c), Hawaii County Code, any donation or gift which does not fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance shall be submitted to the Council by letter for its approval. A letter of appreciation will be sent to The Big Island Auto Club, 581 Ainaola Drive, Hilo, Hawaii 96720 for the amount of $781.81, and to Kamehameha Schools Hawaii -ASKS, 16- 714 Volcano Road, Kea`au, Hawaii 96749 for the amount of $106.00, acknowledging their generous donation. There was no discussion on this measure.
