No. 331-07 <br /> <br /> PLACE: Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa <br /> 78-128 `Ehukai Street <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawaii <br /> <br /> TIME: 10:33 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 331-07, reports as follows: <br /> <br /> Resolution No. 331-07, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No. 661, <br /> dated September 5, 2007, abolishes the vacant Recreation Director II position within the HI-PAL <br /> program, and creates a Clerk III position to assist with the duties, which have been assigned to two Police <br /> Officer II positions. <br /> The Clerk III position will be assigned to take over some of the remaining duties of the Recreation <br /> Director, such as, but not limited to maintaining the HI-PAL inventory, purchasing and tracking all <br /> supplies, preparing forms/packets, filing, and maintaining the records of the HI-PAL program activities. <br /> <br /> The Clerk III position will also assist the Community Policing, School Resources, HI-PAL programs and <br /> the Traffic Enforcement Unit with various accounting and clerical duties including payroll, requisitions, <br /> budget, and con•espondence that are currently being performed by the Lieutenant and Sergeant of the <br /> respective areas. By creating this position, the sworn supervisory staff will have more time to supervise <br /> their respective staff and concentrate on their program requirements and deadlines; instead of performing <br /> clerical tasks.
