Higa, Council Member q ~e? <br /> DATE: December 5, 2007 <br /> SUBJECT: Transmitting Resolution 429-07, Draft 2 <br /> A ResolutionRequesting the Director of Public Works to work with the Planning <br /> Department, the public, and the Hawaii County Council to update and Revise <br /> Chapter 3 of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as Amended), <br /> Relating to Signs. <br /> <br /> Base on the amendments made at the December 4 2007, Public Works & <br /> Intergovernmental Relations Committee, Resolution 429-07 was amended to <br /> Draft 2. The amendments were as follows: <br /> 1. "WHEREAS, chapter 3, Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as <br /> amended), hereinafter "the sign code", [is outdated wiring] requires <br /> [ee ehen4ve] revision; and" <br /> <br /> 2. "WHEREAS, the responsibility of creating effective and fair policy is <br /> vested with the Hawaii County Council and therefore the Department of <br /> Public Works has been [unfairly] tasked to enforce a sign code that is <br /> inconsistent [end outdated]; and" <br /> <br /> 3.
