~~~Y Os M <br /> 4 <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> 1Tf YI •M'~ <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 520 08 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY DONATION OF $2,500 TO <br /> THE PAHALA VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> WHEREAS, the Edmund C. Olson Family Foundation has donated $2,500 to the Pahala Volunteer Fire <br /> Department, which is one of many Volunteer Fire Units which operate under the direction of the Hawaii Fire <br /> Department; and <br /> WHEREAS, the donation was presented to Mr. Ron Ebert, Fire Chief of the Pahala Volunteer Fire <br /> Department, to help purchase much needed protective fire gear, for that department; and in making this gift, <br /> the donor recognizes Julia Neal, who is a staunch supporter of the Pahala Volunteer Fire Department; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on <br /> behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this donation. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in <br /> accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of Hawaii <br /> accepts this monetary donation. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to the <br /> Edmund C.
