The <br /> Contingency Relief funds from the Council District 6 will be used to contract a recycling study <br /> supporting Resolution 356-07 which adopted the principals of zero waste, and to develop a plan <br /> to implement recycling and diversion programs to reach the goal of 85% diversion of solid waste <br /> from the waste stream in three years. <br /> Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating the $50,000 <br /> into the Recycling Programs - County Funded - OCE account within the Solid Waste Fund. <br /> <br /> Since the monies have already been approved for transfer to the Solid Waste Fund, the <br /> Department of Environmental Management would like to request a waiver from the Finance <br /> Committee and to have this bill heard at the Council meeting scheduled for May 20, 2008. <br /> If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the Department of Environmental <br /> Management. <br /> <br /> <br /> IA VA <br /> / <br /> `William'Takaba <br /> Director of Finance <br /> APPROVED: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> P Harry Kim <br /> Mayor I zZ, <br /> Comm.
