Ford, via Communication
No. 1330, dated July 10, 2008 urging the United States Military to add a Hawaii County
Council-Designated Member to the Citizen Monitoring System Proposed by Resolution
No. 639-08, Draft 2.

Public testimony was given in support of this proposed resolution.

Committee Chair Brenda J. Ford relinquished her seat to Vice-Chair Dominic Yagong, and
stated the purpose of this proposed resolution is for the benefit of the public. Lt. Colonel
Richardson at Pohakuloa Training Area is extremely community focused and continues to
work with an established functioning advisory group on cultural issues and understands
the priority of other community concerns, including the depleted uranium issue; and a
citizen monitoring system to discuss the depleted uranium issue has been established.
Although Lt.
