NO. HA-I1IA-98-3(N) WITH THE EXECUTIVE OFFICE <br />ON AGING, STATE OF HAW All, FOR OLDER AMERICAN ACT FUNDS FOR <br />EDUCATION AND TRAINING <br /> <br />WHEREAS, under Title I1I-A of the Older Americans Act of 1965, as amended, <br /> <br />35 U.S.C. ~3028 (a)(1) (hereinafter the "Act"), the commissioner of the Administration <br /> <br />on Aging, Office of the United States Secretary of the Department of Health and Human <br /> <br />Services (hereinafter DHHS) is authorized to make grants to states for the administration <br /> <br />of its State Plan, including the preparation of the State Plan on Aging, the evaluation of <br /> <br />activities carried out under the State Plan, the collection of data and carrying out analyses <br /> <br />related to the need for services, the provision of short-term training to personnel or public <br /> <br />and nonprofit agencies and organizations engaged in the operation of programs <br /> <br />authorized by the Act; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Office of Aging is designated by the Executive <br /> <br />Office on Aging, State of Hawaii, as the area agency on aging responsible for the <br /> <br />collection of data and the carrying out of analyses related to the need for services and for <br /> <br />meeting the training needs of personnel in the field of aging; and <br />
