The Planning <br />Department is authorized to establish a program for the relocation of owner-occupants residing <br />neat the Puna Geothermal Venture's plant and who want to be permanently relocated, and to <br />fund expenditures for the benefit of lower Puna; including but not limited to, road improvements, <br />water infrastructure development, land acquisition, parks and recreational facility needs, civil <br />defense, and mass transit improvements. Expenditures from this fund are to be made in <br />accordance with appropriations adopted by the Hawai'i County Council after receiving <br />recommendations from the Planning Director <br /> <br />Due to the closure of the P1ihoa Elections office and the expiration of the Council's current lease, <br />beginning December 2009, the Pahoa Council Office will relocate to the former P1ihoa Elections <br />office. The lease expires July 31, 2012 and will not be affected by the change of occupants. The <br />Property Management Division ofthe Department of Finance has accepted the responsibility of <br />paying the monthly lease rent from the Geothermal fund, thus, the transfer of funds is necessary. <br />The transfer amount reflects seven months of rent and has received the recommendation of <br />Planning Director BJ Leithead Todd. <br /> <br />FC Rept.
