<br />..., <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />-_._------~-- <br /> <br />'. <br /> <br />.~. <br />;j <br /> <br />4;,;fJ'J2i!~?~~~ <br />COUNTY OF HAW ,.......JATEOF HAWAII <br /> <br />s~.. ; ......... ....,....... .....y...' i <br />RESQC1IJ.DON <br />':i'~0;:~~;.i:':i;iss "c <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION CELEBRATING THE 27-YEAR SISTER CITY RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE CITY OF <br />HUALIEN, TAIWAN, REPUBLIC OF CHINA AND THE COUNTY OF HAWAII. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on September 22,1971, over 27 years ago, the City ofHualien, Taiwan, Republic Of China <br />and the County of Hawaii established a Sister City relationship by officially signing the Sister City agreement, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, such a Sister City program has benefited the pebple of the affiliated cities through the <br />exchange of cultural exhibits, educational programs and other matters of common interest; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, as part of the cultural exchange, the Hualien County Government will sponsor a dance <br />performance by the Hualien Teachers' Dance Troupe at the University of Hawaii at Hilo Theater on August 12, <br />1998. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAW All that it <br />recognizes, congratulates and celebrates the 27-year international partnership between City of Hualien, Taiwan <br />and the County of Hawaii. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County of Hawaii reafftrms its Sister City relationship with City <br />of Hualien, Taiwan, Republic of China and its commitment to each other. . <br /> <br />BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be transmitted to the Mayor of the City of <br />Hualien, Taiwan, Republic of China and the Hualien Teachers' Dance Troupe. <br /> <br />Dated at Hilo, Hawaii This 5th day of August, 1998. <br /> <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />COUNTY COUNCIL <br />County of Hawaii <br />Hilo, Hawaii <br /> <br />I hereby certify that the foregoing RESOLUTION was by the <br />vote indicated to the right hereof adopted by the COUNCIL of the <br />County of Hawaii on August 5, 1998.
