S ,, /, . • STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 52 11 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF A CHOPPER SPOTTER <br /> TO THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT FOR USE TO HANDLE HELICOPTERS ON THE <br /> PAVEMENT <br /> WHEREAS, the Daniel Sayre Memorial Foundation is donating a new J.B. Knowles Inc. CHOPPER <br /> SPOTTER ®; a unique, patented machine used to handle helicopters on the pavement, to the Hawaii Fire <br /> Department; and <br /> WHEREAS, this equipment, valued at $11,149 will be used to provide a safer means to deploy a <br /> helicopter designated as Chopper 1 from the hanger when personnel are limited; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on <br /> behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or other personal property or of real <br /> estate or any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2 -162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code <br /> states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the capitalization <br /> procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this donation. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in accordance with Article <br /> XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2- 162(a) of the Hawaii <br /> County Code, the Council of the County of Hawaii accepts this donation. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to Ms. <br /> Laura Mallery- Sayre, P.O.
