.....,,„- ............ <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII : tiN''�•' STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 75 11 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF A SPORTS <br /> UTILITY VEHICLE FROM THE UNITED STATES MARSHALS SERVICE FOR USE IN <br /> JOINT LAW ENFORCEMENT OPERATIONS <br /> WHEREAS, the United States Marshals Service is donating a new 2010 Ford, Explorer <br /> to the Hawaii County Police Department; and <br /> WHEREAS, this vehicle, valued at $22,900.74, will be utilized when assisting with <br /> operations of the Regional Fugitive Task Force, a joint law enforcement task force consisting of <br /> federal, state, and local law enforcement authorities; and <br /> WHEREAS, the primary mission of the Regional Fugitive Task Force is to investigate <br /> and apprehend violent fugitives, thereby improving public safety and reducing violent crime; and <br /> WHEREAS, this donation is being made pursuant to an existing memorandum of <br /> understanding between the Hawaii County Police Department and the United States Marshals <br /> Service; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the <br /> Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or other <br /> personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, <br /> Section 2 -162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that any gifts or donations of money, <br /> securities, or personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department <br /> of Finance, may be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department recommends the acceptance of this <br /> donation; now, therefore, <br />
