COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 216 12 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT AWARD OF $25,000 FROM THE MICHAEL & SUSAN DELL FOUNDATION TO FUND THE PURCHASE OF INTRAOSSEOUS INFUSION SYSTEMS FOR THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department has been selected to receive a Michael & Susan Dell Foundation $25,000 grant award; and WHEREAS, these funds will be used to purchase intraosseous infusion systems for use by the Fire Department's EMS ambulance personnel; and WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2 -162 (a) of the Hawai'i County Code states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this grant award; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2- 162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the County of Hawaii accepts this grant award.
