COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />ORDINANCE NO. I <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />BILL NO. 270 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, ARTICLE 10, DIVISION 1, SECTION 24 -257 <br />OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO <br />SPEED LIMITS. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: <br />SECTION 1. The purpose of this measure is to revise the speed limits along South Kulani Road. <br />The Traffic Division's proposal is to keep the existing 25 mph speed limit from Volcano Road up until <br />parcel 1 -8- 036:026. A new 35 mph speed limit will be installed from parcel 1 -8- 086:026 to three hundred <br />feet northwest of the bridge 18 -1. The rest of South Kulani Road will remain at 25 mph. <br />SECTION 2. Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 1, Section 24 -257, Schedule 5. 35 mile per hour <br />limit, subsection (g), Puna, of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), is amended by <br />adding the following to be appropriately numbered and to read as follows: <br />() <br />South Milani Road, from the property line between parcels 1 -8- 086:026 and 1 -8- 086:027 <br />and extending three hundred feet northwest of bridge 18 -1. <br />SECTION 3. Material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New material is underscored. In <br />printing this ordinance, the brackets, bracketed and stricken material and underscoring need not be <br />included. <br />SECTION 4. Severability. If any provision of this ordinance, or the application thereof <br />to any person or circumstance, is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or <br />applications of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, <br />and to this end, the provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. <br />SECTION 5. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval. <br />
