No. 118-13 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 1:34 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 118-13, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 118-13, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford, via Communication No. 286 <br /> dated May 16, 2013, authorizes the Finance Director to sell real property in the Kamakoa Nui <br /> Workforce Housing Community at Waikoloa to Habitat for Humanity West Hawai`i. <br /> The County of Hawai`i own real property in the Kamakoa Nui Workforce Housing Community <br /> designated by Tax Map Keys (3)6-8-030:206, 213, 215, 216, 222, and 223. The resolution authorizes <br /> the Finance Director to negotiate the sale of fee simple land to Habitat for Humanity West Hawai`i <br /> (Habitat), a nonprofit organization, whose mission is to empower families, build community and hope <br /> through home ownership for low income partner families. Habitat has obtained appraisals and has the <br /> funding to purchase the six vacant lots at the appraised fair market value, and has agreed to construct the <br /> exact home as determined by the Kamakoa Nui community development plans and specifications. <br /> There was no discussion on this measure. <br /> Pursuant to Section 2-120 (a) (1), Hawaii County Code, the Council of the County of Hawai`i may, by <br /> resolution approved by a majority of its members, direct the finance director to negotiate the disposition <br /> of real property by"[s]elling it in fee simple at such price and on such terms and conditions deemed <br /> proper to governments and governmental agencies authorized to hold lands in fee simple, to nonprofit <br /> organizations to develop affordable housing, or to affordable housing developers." <br /> Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 118-13, and <br /> recommends its adoption. <br /> Sc <br /> AYES NOES A&E EX Respectfully submitted, <br /> EOFF X <br /> FORD X COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br /> ILAGAN X <br /> KANUHA X <br /> KERN X Cu <br /> ` <br /> ��x.ik. <br /> ONISHI X FGA " <br /> POINDEXTER X VALERIE T.
