.�JMtY Os k,. 4 <br /> •COUNTY OF HAWAII '�4 �f* STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 249 13 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER <br /> FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A <br /> MULTI-YEAR SUBSCRIPTION AGREEMENT WITH THOMPSON <br /> REUTERS FOR WESTLAW NEXT <br /> WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, <br /> lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later <br /> fiscal year or more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney relies on their Westlaw Next <br /> online legal research service subscription for their trial preparation; and <br /> WHEREAS, their current Westlaw Next subscription agreement with Thomson <br /> Reuters will expire on December 31, 2013; and <br /> WHEREAS, a multi year agreement results in a cost savings over a single year <br /> agreement; and <br /> WHEREAS, the County wishes to enter into a multi year subscription agreement <br /> with Thompson Reuters for the Westlaw Next online legal research service; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI'I that the <br /> Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a multi-year Westlaw Next subscription <br /> agreement and that sufficient funds will be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the <br /> anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement. <br />
