JMt of 04 1J COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII '• OF•NF0 RESOLUTION NO. 498 14 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-YEAR LEASE OF TWO COPY MACHINES FOR THE OFFICE OF THE COUNTY CLERK. WHEREAS, the Office of the County Clerk has two copy machines on a month-to- month lease, which are located in the Council/Committee Services section and the Legislative Research Branch/Administrative Services section; and WHEREAS, these copy machines require frequent repairs and will soon be obsolete; and WHEREAS, entering into a five-year lease agreement for new copy machines will cost less than the current month-to-month leases; and WHEREAS, the monthly lease payment for two copy machines should be approximately $185 per month with an additional cost of approximately $0.0089 per copy; and WHEREAS, the Clerk-Council Svc OCE account (010.101.5101.02.111) for the current fiscal year contains sufficient funds for the lease of two copy machines; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Article X, Section 10-11 of the County Charter, any contract, lease, or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year shall be made or approved by resolution; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-13 of the County Charter, the County may enter into contracts with private parties, which shall be signed by the Mayor and be approved by the Director of Finance as to the availability of funds; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a five-year lease agreement for two copy machines for the Office of the County Clerk.
