No. 144-15 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawaii <br /> TIME: 1:35 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No.144-15, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 144-15, transmitted by Finance Director Deanna S. Sako, via Communication <br /> No. 236 dated March 25, 2015, authorizes the Finance Director to sell real property in the <br /> Kamakoa Nui Workforce Housing Community at Waikoloa to Habitat for Humanity West <br /> Hawai`i. <br /> This resolution authorizes the sale of fee simple land to Habitat for Humanity West Hawai`i, who <br /> has obtained appraisals and funding to purchase six vacant lots to develop affordable housing at <br /> Kamakoa Nui. <br /> Housing Administrator Susan Akiyama appeared before Your Committee for comments. <br /> Pursuant to Section 2-120 (a)(1) of the Hawai`i County Code, the Council of the County of <br /> Hawai`i may, by resolution approved by a majority of its members, direct the finance director to <br /> negotiate the disposition of real property by selling it in fee simple at such price and on such <br /> terms and conditions deemed proper to governments and governmental agencies authorized to <br /> hold lands in fee simple, to nonprofit organizations to develop affordable housing, or to <br /> affordable housing developers. <br /> Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 144-15, <br /> and recommends its adoption. <br /> wb <br /> AYES NOES ABS EX Respectfully submitted, <br /> CHUNG X <br /> DAVID x COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br /> EOFF X <br /> ILAGAN X <br /> KANUHA X <br /> ONISHI X <br /> PALEKA x KAREN EOFF, H I <br /> POINDEXTER X FC REPORT NO.: 19 <br /> WILLE X ADOPTED: MAY 0 6 2015 <br />
