051 OS M �i <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII ' • � '!�* STATE OF HAWAII <br /> '=ewe <br /> 1 T�OFM►�►'' <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 329 15 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT TO <br /> AWARD FUNDS TO THE ANEKONA OULI KANEHOA VFD <br /> COMPANY <br /> WHEREAS, Chapter 2, Article 25, Section 2-139(a)(3)(A) of the Hawaii <br /> County Code (2005 Edition as amended) states, Grant awards in excess of$25,000 <br /> to nonprofit organizations shall specifically identify the organization receiving the <br /> grant funds and the purpose for which the grant funds shall be used in an ordinance <br /> or resolution; and <br /> WHEREAS, Chapter 2, Article 25, Section 2-136(5) of the Hawaii County <br /> Code states, "nonprofit organization" means an organization organized for other than <br /> profit-making purposes and which has a current 501(c)3 tax-exemption from the <br /> Internal Revenue Code; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Anekona Ouli Kanehoa VFD Company qualifies as a <br /> nonprofit organization as defined above; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department wishes to provide $40,000 to the <br /> Anekona Ouli Kanehoa VFD Company; and <br /> WHEREAS, the grant funds will be used towards the development and <br /> implementation of a volunteer fire station in Kamuela, Hawaii; now, therefore <br />
