No. 358 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 1:02 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation,, to which was referred <br /> Communication No. 358, reports as follows: <br /> Communication No. 358, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated July 13, 2017, nominates <br /> Dale Wilson, Ph.D. to the Veterans Advisory Committee. Dr. Wilson is a retired US Army major and a <br /> Vietnam veteran who received the Combat Infantry Badge, Bronze Star, Purple Heart and Army <br /> Commendation medal. <br /> Dr. Wilson retired from the military after 22 years of service and was wounded in combat. He was <br /> assigned to various military assignments before becoming an Assistant Professor of History at the US <br /> Military Academy at West Point,N.Y. Dr. Wilson holds an M.A. and a Ph. D. in History from Temple <br /> University. Dr. Wilson came to Hawaii in the '70s when he was stationed at Schofield Barracks, Oahu <br /> for 3 years. He has lived in Hawai'i for the past 17 years. If confirmed, he would serve a term ending <br /> December 31, 2020. <br /> Ms. Rose Bautista, Executive Assistant to Mayor Kim, introduced Nominee Dr. Wilson.
