Mr. Hirakami is the current principal of Hawai'i Academy of Arts and Science <br /> (HAAS) Public Charter School in Pahoa: He has been with HAAS since 2001. Mr. <br /> Hirakami is also a former teacher at Pahoa High and Intermediate School, a student <br /> coordinator for Waters of Life PCS, and a realtor associate with Pahoa Realty and Savio <br /> Realty. <br /> Mr. Hirakami received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University <br /> of Hawai'i at MAnoa. He is an active member of our island community and has <br /> volunteered his time with the Hawai'i Charter Schools Network, Hilo Y's Men &Women, <br /> and the Hawai'i Island Corporate Board of the YMCA. He also served as a <br /> Commissioner on the Public Open Space and Natural Resources Commission (PONC). <br /> Mr. Hirakami has been a resident of Hawai'i for the past 43 years. He states he is not <br /> affiliated with any political party.
