No. 437 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 2:25 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 437, reports as follows: <br /> Communication No. 437, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim dated August 29, 2017, nominates <br /> George Campbell of Council District 6 to the Hawai`i County Salary Commission. <br /> Ms. Rose Bautista, Executive Assistant to Mayor Kim, introduced George Campbell. Mr. Campbell <br /> is retired from the University of California system and has extensive experience in human resource <br /> management, safety, environmental protection, and cultural sensitivity practices. He is currently <br /> President and Treasurer for Hawaiian Ocean View Estate Road Maintenance Corporation, <br /> Vice President of Ocean View Community Development Corporation, Chair of Na`alehu United <br /> Methodist Church, and a member of the church's band. If confirmed, he will serve to fill an unexpired <br /> term ending December 31, 2017, and will qualify for re-appointment to a full five-year term. <br /> Mr. Campbell stated that it would be an honor to serve on the Salary Commission.
