'9 18 <br /> • <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF <br /> TWO (2) BUSES FROM THE MAUI COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF <br /> TRANSPORTATION <br /> WHEREAS, the Maui County Department of Transportation is donating two (2) <br /> retired buses to the County of Hawai'i's Mass Transit Agency; and <br /> WHEREAS, the buses will be used to provide island-wide public transportation; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides <br /> that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, <br /> securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and <br /> Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that any gifts <br /> or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the <br /> capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by resolution <br /> approved by the Council; and <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Hawai`i's Mass Transit Agency recommends the <br /> acceptance of this donation; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in <br /> accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and Chapter <br /> 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the County of <br /> Hawaii accepts this donation. <br />
