These apparatus will replace the fire trucks currently assigned to the <br /> Laupahoehoe and Kailua fire stations which are 21 and 17 years old, respectively. <br /> According to the Hawai`i Fire Department, new, reliable fire apparatus will reduce repair <br /> and maintenance costs as well as increase their firefighting effectiveness. The anticipated <br /> lease cost is approximately $26,000 per month. <br /> The Fire Department is requesting to waive this resolution from the Finance Committee <br /> in order to be placed on the December 19, 2018 Council agenda.
