COUNTY OF HAWAII I � �'''�-���� •�- STATE OF HAWAII <br /> � : . <br /> BILL NO. 40 <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 19 43 <br /> AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING TMK(3) 6-8-041:008 AS THE "KAMAKOA NUI <br /> PARK" PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 15, ARTICLE 8, SECTION 15-67 OF THE <br /> HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (2016 EDITION, AS AMENDED); AMENDING <br /> SECTION 15-68.1 TO ADD THE "KAMAKOA NUI PARK" TO THE PARKS AND <br /> RECREATIONAL FACILITY SCHEDULE; AND AMENDING CHAPTER 14, <br /> ARTICLE 1, SECTION 14-1 RELATING TO PROHIBITING THE POSSESSION OR <br /> CONSUMPTION OF INTOXICATING LIQUORS AT ALL TIMES. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: <br /> SECTION 1. Purpose. The purpose of this ordinance is to name a park located in the <br /> Waikoloa area of South Kohala, specifically identified as TMK (3) 6-8-041:008, and with a <br /> physical address of 68-1839 Kamakoa Drive, Waikoloa, Hawai`i. This area would be named <br /> "Kamakoa Nui Park" pursuant to Chapter 15, article 8, of the Hawai`i County Code, which <br /> establishes guidelines for the naming of such. Section 15-67(a)(2)(A) provides that any open <br /> area shall be named for its neighborhood, community, region, district or other identifying <br /> geographical location. Being that the park is located on Kamakoa Drive and has been affiliated <br /> with the Kamakoa Nui Housing project nearby, it is fitting to legally name said park"Kamakoa <br /> Nui Park". This ordinance also concurrently adds the newly-named Kamakoa Nui Park to <br /> Section 14-1 of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as amended),to prohibit the <br /> possession or consumption of alcohol at all times. <br /> SECTION 2. Chapter 15, article 8, section 15-68.1, Hawaii County Code 1983 <br /> (2016 Edition, as amended), relating to the parks and recreational facility schedule, is <br /> amended by adding a new park listing to the North/South Kohala section, to be <br /> appropriately inserted and read as follows: <br /> "Kamakoa Nui Park" <br />
