JMSV OF 1, <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII •' <br />7rE 6F.Nrrti <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO <br />ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR <br />AND INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR A <br />WORKFORCE INNOVATION AND OPPORTUNITY ACT GRANT <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations has authorized <br />Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funds to be provided to the County <br />of Hawaii; and <br />WHEREAS, the funds will be used to assist adults, dislocated workers and <br />youth by providing services that will train individuals to increase employment, <br />retention, earnings, skills and literacy; and <br />WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that County <br />departments obtain the consent of the Council to enter into agreements with the <br />Federal or State governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the <br />powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance <br />in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, in <br />accordance with section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, that the Mayor of the County <br />of Hawaii is authorized to execute, on behalf of the County, an agreement and related <br />documents with the State of Hawaii Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, to <br />enable the County to accept funds to be used as indicated above. <br />
