COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A <br />DONATION OF A WATER IRRIGATION SYSTEM AND NATIVE <br />HAWAIIAN PLANTS TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAII. <br />WHEREAS, Ka`ahahui o Ka Nahelehele ("Nahelehele") is a domestic non-profit <br />501 (c)(3) organization whose stated purpose is to operate exclusively for charitable, literary, <br />educational and scientific purposes; and <br />WHEREAS, the mission of Nahelehele is to facilitate and advocate for the <br />perpetuation of native dry forest plants, insects and birds, environmental restoration, <br />protection, and conservation of dry forest habitats; and <br />WHEREAS, in 1999, Henry Clark donated an eight -acre parcel identified as <br />TMK 3-6-2:007:001 to the County of Hawaii for use as a community park; and <br />WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii plans to develop TMK 3-6-2:007:001 into a <br />community park; and <br />WHEREAS, Nahelehele entered into a Friends of the Park agreement with the County <br />of Hawaii Department of Parks and Recreation on March 22, 2013 for the development of a <br />management plan for the proposed park within `Ouli/Lalamilo Ahupua`a near Waimea, Island <br />of Hawai `i; and <br />
