COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 323 19 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT <br /> AWARD OF $100,000 FROM HAWAII COMMUNITY FOUNDATION <br /> TO FUND THE HO`OWAIWAI FINANCIAL EMPOWERMENT <br /> CENTER FOR HAWAII ISLAND PILOT PROGRAM <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii has been selected to receive a <br /> $100,000 grant award from Hawaii Community Foundation; and <br /> WHEREAS, these funds will be used for the Ho`owaiwai Financial <br /> Empowerment Center for Hawaii Island Pilot Program to establish a Financial <br /> Empowerment Center (FEC) model on Hawaii Island; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Financial Empowerment Center (FEC) model provides <br /> free, professional one-on-one financial counseling and other related services to <br /> residents; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of Management shall oversee the implementation <br /> of this project and recommends the acceptance of this grant award; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, <br /> provides that the council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of <br /> money, securities, or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real <br /> estate; now therefore, <br />
