The property is located northeast <br /> of the Kona International Airport at Keahole,between Queen Ka`ahumanu Highway and <br /> Makalei Estates Subdivision,Kau,North Kona, Hawaii, TMK: (3) 7-2-005: Portion of 001. <br /> APPLICANT'S REQUEST <br /> 1. Status of Project Development: Palamanui Global Holdings LLC ("Palamanui")is the <br /> owner and developer of the 725-acre property known as the mixed use"Palamanui <br /> Development"on TMK 7-2-005:001, which consists of 695 acres zoned Project District <br /> and about 30 acres zoned MCX(Industrial-Commercial Mixed) located just north of the <br /> University of Hawaii-West Hawaii campus ("UHWH"). One of the short-term <br /> objectives of the Palamanui Development was to help kick start the development of the <br /> UHWH,with the goal of creating a university village that consisted of a university and a <br /> community. Palamanui has already invested more than$22 million towards the <br /> construction of the UHWH and related infrastructure in a cooperative undertaking with <br /> the University of Hawaii. Palamanui's work and expenditures that have directly <br /> benefited and/or supported the UHWH include: <br /> • Funding$4.4 million for the completion of a new road from Ka`iminani Drive to <br /> the new University Drive, which is identified as Road 3A in the Kona Community <br /> Development Plan("KCDP"); <br /> I <br /> I <br />
